Spinner is one of the largest works in Adil Ghani's Life : Magnified collection, a series of raku-fired ceramic earthenware sculptures capturing facets of humanity within shapes inspired by microlife. Broad and full in every direction, it holds a room on its own and is a statement fine-art choice for corporate gifts and Malaysian gifts.
About the collection
Adil was inspired by what the naked eye cannot see: worlds within worlds, and reactions and movements happening without our awareness. The collection imagines these microscopic details at life size and how they mirror different facets of our lives. Alien yet familiar, if we paused a moment to look, what might we see?
Fired in raku
The sculpture was removed red-hot from the kiln and sealed in a reduction chamber of sawdust or paper, giving it a surface that cannot be reproduced.
