ADIL GHANI
Ceramic Artist - Petaling Jaya, Malaysia
I am Adil Ghani, a ceramic artist driven by a deep fascination with the unpredictable beauty of fire and clay. My work explores the raw, organic essence of raku pottery—where each piece is shaped by both intention and the uncontrollable forces of the firing process. The cracks, textures, and smoky hues that emerge are not flaws but stories, capturing a fleeting moment of transformation. Through RAAQUU, I strive to share this ancient technique with a modern audience, blending tradition with contemporary aesthetics. Each piece is a reflection of my journey—an experiment in imperfection, spontaneity, and the art of embracing the unknown.
Artist Bio : Adil Ghani
Adil Ghani is a ceramic artist and the creative force behind RAAQUU, a brand dedicated to modern raku pottery. Passionate about craftsmanship and the unpredictable nature of fire and clay, he bridges the ancient art of raku with contemporary aesthetics, celebrating imperfection and spontaneity.
Adil’s journey began with a fascination for handmade artistry and the transformative power of fire. Inspired by the Japanese raku technique, he embraced its unpredictability, where textures, cracks, and smoky hues emerge during the rapid cooling process. These organic imperfections are intentional reflections of beauty in unpredictability.
Founding RAAQUU allowed Adil to share his vision and elevate raku pottery. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted and fired using the traditional raku method, where exposure to air, fire, and water creates striking, one-of-a-kind patterns and textures. His work balances control with chaos, embodying the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in imperfection and impermanence.
Under Adil’s leadership, RAAQUU has gained international recognition, with his ceramics showcased in exhibitions and private collections worldwide. By blending traditional techniques with modern sensibilities, he has carved a unique space in contemporary ceramic art.
Beyond his artistic practice, Adil is committed to sharing his knowledge and inspiring a deeper appreciation for ceramic arts. Through workshops and collaborations, he encourages others to embrace creativity and the value of handmade beauty. Each RAAQUU piece is more than an object—it is a testament to transformation, imperfection, and endless artistic possibilities.

Life : Magnified - 2023
A series of raku fired ceramic earthenware sculptures that captures facets of humanity within shapes inspired by microlife.
Adil was inspired by what we can't see with the naked eye. Worlds within worlds. Reactions and movements happening without us being aware of them. What if these little microscopic details were life-size? How these seemingly insignificant elements align and represent different facets of our lives.
Alien yet familiar, if we paused a moment to look, what might we see?

BONES - 2024
A series of raku fired ceramic sculptures that explores the intricacies of humankind by digging deep into one’s core.
This series explores the questions and curiosities about life and death, which are held by a thread. These pieces examine the distinction between strength and fragility, and the thin line separating these two. Bones are the window into our past and at the same time symbolize the conception of our journey of hope and destiny.
These bones represent our truest and barest self.

Crystalscape - Launching May 2025
Crystalscape is ceramic artist Adil Ghani’s latest contemplative body of work, drawing from the silent majesty of natural crystal formation. Inspired by the slow alchemy of time, pressure, and environmental forces, each piece reflects a singular evolution — a crystallized metaphor for human growth and transformation.
Harnessing the expressive raku technique, Adil Ghani imbues his sculptures with both fragility and strength. The glittered surfaces shimmer with symbolism — hope, healing, and the quiet resilience of the human spirit. Meanwhile, the signature crackle effect of raku becomes a narrative device, speaking to vulnerability as much as endurance, and revealing the complex, layered textures of personal experience.
Beyond their formal elegance, these sculptures function as meditative objects. Positioned in still, quiet space, they invite the viewer into introspection — to consider how beauty, like crystal, is often born of pressure; how our own imperfections, like fine fractures, define our humanity. In Crystalscape, Ghani continues his exploration of ceramics as both material and metaphor, offering a tactile reflection on the interplay between inner spirit and outer form.
