5th August 2022 - In the month of July 2022, The Malaysia Design Council (MRM), awarded RAAQUU two awards under the Malaysia Good Design Award (MGDA) 2021 ceremony for their entries in the Craft Products category. The pieces that received this highest distinction for design recognition were the Aurora Oval Raku Vase and the Aurora Globe Raku Vase, with the Deputy Minister of the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade And Industry (MITI), YB Senator Datuk Lim Ban Hong presiding over the ceremony.
Established in 1993, MRM under MITI, held their annual Malaysia Good Design Award Ceremony for the year 2021 last month, in conjunction with the Certified Industrial Designer (CIDe) program. The award ceremony was done as an initiative from MRM to endorse high quality products in design manufacturing, providing a platform for local products and brands, as well as assuring trust and product confidence among consumers towards local businesses.
This prestigious award ceremony celebrates design and craftsmanship across 13 categories of design that encompass products from various industries in Malaysia. With over 252 total entries, only 26 products from 19 brands made it through the preliminary rounds of eligibility. In his speech, YB Senator Datuk Lim Ban Hong emphasized on the importance of design in creating a product, strengthening a brand, and improving a company’s competitive advantage.
